OUR CORE FUNCTIONS

CENTRE FOR ACADEMIC PROGRAM ACCREDITATION

(a) Conduct Accreditation Audits (Provisional, Full, and Reaccreditation) for academic programmes under self-accreditation status

(b) Coordinate Accreditation Audits (Provisional, Full, and Renewal of Validity Period) of academic programmes by Professional Bodies

(c) Coordinate accreditation and recognition of academic programmes by international institutions 

(d) Conduct site audits for branch campuses/offshore campuses

(e) Monitor standard compliance for UM academic programmes offered at branch campuses/offshore campuses

(f) Prepare accreditation-related publication materials for reference by programme owners and evaluation panels


CENTRE FOR ASSESSMENT AND CAPACITY BUILDING

(a) Coordinate internal evaluations of the university’s quality management system. These internal evaluations include the UMQEI Assessment and PTj Self-Audit 

(b) Coordinate quality documents such as SOPs, work instructions, and process flowcharts involving eight (8) Core Processes:

      - Quality Management and Enhancement

      - Teaching and Learning Management

      - Research Management

      - Organisational and Human Resource Management

      - Infrastructure and Information Services Management

      - Financial Management

      - Value Creation and Enterprise Management

      - Student Affairs Management


(c) Coordinate network empowerment and stakeholder engagement activities related to the quality management system at both national and international levels.



CENTRE FOR QUALITY PLANNING AND ENHANCEMENT

(a) Plan strategies and initiatives for institutional quality assurance enhancement in line with the university’s mission and vision, by integrating the UM Quality Management System (UM QMS) with best practices derived from benchmarking, new standards, and stakeholder feedback.

(b) Coordinate the implementation of External Quality Assurance (EQA) processes at the institutional level, including AUN-QA Programme/Institutional Assessment, ISMS ISO/IEC 27001, SR10:2011 (Social Responsibility Management System by SIRIM), as well as laboratory certifications such as ISO/IEC 17025.

(c) Monitor the progress and impact of continuous improvement projects/activities for academic programmes and the institution, through follow-up actions based on programme evaluations, UMQEI, and both internal and external audits reported periodically.

(d) Develop, maintain, and enhance institutional quality support systems, including the UMQEI application, documentation system (ADocQ), academic programme (Accreditation Monitoring Application), and quality procedures.
